OMG, I cannot believe it was a month ago that I last posted what is going on in my life. Obviously, there are situations I encounter every day that are blog worthy - however, I have just not committed them to e-paper. So a recap:
Janelle and I spent the efforts of one Friday night and Saturday afternoon constructing the world's greatest entry into the Washington Post Peeps Diorama contest. Every year, for Easter, they ask people to come up with creative ways to depict peeps, the marshmellow candies. Picture is above (I just don't have the energy to fight Blogger tonight on where the stupid picture should be). The main criteria for the contest were craftmanship and creativity. We made upholstered mini couches, ran electrical wiring through the thing, and stained little pieces of wood. You can't get craftier than that...and I should also say our work was at a very professional level, if there is such a profession as creating dioramas for peeps.
Other than that, the LSAT prepping has really dominated my free time. I remember the Saturdays when I used to sip a Diet Coke and watch Giada at Home on the Food Network. Those days are gone. But in a weird way I am enjoying studying - enjoying having something outside of work, enjoying the material, emjoying being back in the classroom. So I'm excited about what's ahead and I know that I've made the right decision to pursue law school in earnest.
The weather has been getting better here - I wore shorts this weekend. Shorts. In March. This blows my mind. One day I was wearing a winter jacket, the next, shorts. Ok not really - there were a few days in there - but still. Previously, this was completely outside the realm of possibility for me.
Obviously my dedication to this blog has not wavered (cough) but still, I've been doing this since last May, almost a full year. And as such, that means I graduated almost a year ago - crazy, right, because I thought this year would drag on. But it has caught me quite by surprise. I've been at my job for 8 months (I have my annual review tomorrow!), so I'm wondering if I need to change the header of this blog. Although then, it would just be a "young professional" in "business casual" making some kind of awkward facial/hand gesture and I really think the cap and gown just complete that look. But still, open to suggestions.
And...last but not least, ABBA has made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. How have you celebrated?
